The Beach Trap by Ali Brady

A NOVEL PAIRING because I love books and wine.

For The Beach Trap by Ali Brady, I wish there was a stronger word for “cute.”  Winsome? Delightful? Charming? Yes, to all the above (even with a couple of heated scenes!) This book is all about collaboration, from its fun authors, and synergistic plot, to the lovable characters. Cat and Blake became besties at summer camp when they were twelve. Then a relative disaster takes place. Fast forward fifteen years and they are forced to reconcile their pasts and their hearts while they (literally) build their future together! This is more than just a beach read (the story is set in Destin, FL) it is a year-round, feel-good, pick-me-up, call-your-sister read.

I found the perfect wines (one red and one white) to sip during your read throughout the alternating dual points of views in the The Beach Trap from… ready for it… Two Sisters Vinyards! Even though Cat and Blake don’t drink much wine during their story, me and my sister just might have made up for them. Two Sisters Vinyards was a shared vision of two sisters Melissa and Angela that came to fruition. Sound familiar? How could I not try these wines?

For this blog post we sipped a duet (because, well, you know) of Two Sister’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. The cabernet is a delight--bold with oaky, strawberry, and dark chocolate flavors. The website claims, “This cabernet sauvignon demonstrates great finesse and integration, evident through the enjoyable finish.” (Sounds just like The Beach Trap to me!)

The sauvignon blanc is fresh and crisp. It’s contrasting flavors-tropical fruits and sweet herbs-result in a—as the website says—"delicious tension.” (This too is a perfect description for The Beach Trap!)  You can’t make this stuff up! Cheers!
