The Weight of Change by Jennifer Walters

A NOVEL PAIRING because I love books and wine.

I love the relatability of The Weight of Change. Jennifer Walters delicately handles her main character’s emotional struggles in such a way that you are rooting for Valerie and possibly your own friends going through some of the same issues… and most likely yourself! As Valerie Renyalds loses weight and gains confidence, she fumbles through a promising relationship, gingerly accepts support, and discovers true love! In support of Valerie, I chose a wine to sip in appreciation of Valerie and her endeavors toward a better self.

LYBL Live Your Best Life Cabernet Sauvignon sounds about right for Valerie. It’s sustainably farmed in California and is a reduced alcohol, low sugar wine that at first taste puckered my lips, but after I let it “rest” for ten minutes or so, it was quite delicious, dry, and flavorful. LYBL’s crisp, light Sauvignon Blanc also has a great rating. (Most of the sippers leaving low ratings don’t seem to have a valid reason for drinking a “healthy” wine anyway, so their reviews don’t count!) Sip and read. Read and sip. Either way, my heaven. And this book had me floating on cloud 9.
